In een mooi geschenkpapier en met veel knuffels kreeg ik van mijn halve trouwboek en de kinderen gisteren dan toch zo’n hebbeding. De stappenteller ! Eentje met alles er op en er aan. Tijdnotering, stappen natuurlijk, calorieverbruik en aantal km worden netjes uitgeteld. Na wat gepruts aan de 2 knopjes heeft die de hele dag aan mijn broeksriem gehangen. Het zou een actieve dag worden waarbij ik wat minder rondjes loop in huis om spulletjes van de ene ruimte naar de andere te brengen maar waar dankzij dat mooie weer de natuur lokt. Om brood en taart te kopen, halen toch de gaspedaal en rem de bovenhand. Dit heeft niets te maken met gebrek aan enthousiasme maar eerder met gebrek aan tijd gezien de frisse lakens mij langer gevangen houden dan gepland. De bakker is hier wel een flink stuk vandaan en ik wil niet te laat komen op mijn afspraak deze namiddag. Ik merk wel dat ik opeens een kwiekere stap ontwikkel dan de dag ervoor. Geen sloom geschuifel meer maar een poging om dat spul alles te doen registreren. Van nature ben ik wel een beetje hyper maar nu doe ik daar natuurlijk nog een schepje bovenop. Het kost me heel wat zelfbeheersing om niet iedere keer te kijken hoe ver de teller staat. Vol vertrouwen, overtuigd dat ik me daar eens een prestatie zal neerplanten, breng ik mijn dag door zonder constante neiging om de lokroep van een stoel te beantwoorden. ’s Avonds sla ik bijna achterover van het schrikken als het tijd wordt om dat ding af te doen. Amper 3 grote appels calorieën verbruikt. Man, man, man !
