Van het een komt het ander

Vreemd hoe het ene op het andere invloed heeft. Zie nu de zon … Iedereen loopt met een glimlach op het gezicht. In de voortuintjes groeien opeens overal bloemen in potten en hangertjes. Het gras daarentegen kort in. Tafels en stoelen met parasols krijgen hun zomerstekje. De lichtere kleding steekt af tegen het landschap en je ziet de mensen buiten wandelen. Vensters weerkaatsen het licht. Zelfs de mijne kregen een beurt.
Het aantal te wassen machines slinkt zienderogen. Geen stapels pullovers en lange gevoerde broeken meer en hoewel dankzij mijn twee wijsneuzen er toch nog veel zwart tussen zit, draaien andere wasprogramma’s.
Gisteren groeide ik meteen een paar centimeter. Ik kreeg me daar een flink complimentje van mensen waarvan ik dit eigenlijk helemaal niet verwacht. “Wat sta jij knap met rood en wat zie je er goed uit”. Het contrast tussen rood hemd en gebruinde tint verdween meteen. Ik ben nu eenmaal geen kei in het in-ontvangst-nemen van complimentjes. Met benepen keel kreeg ik er toch een beleefd “dank u” uit, terwijl de impuls om uitleg te geven onderdrukt bleef. Een dagje later vrolijkt het me nog altijd op. Dit geeft me ook moed om het vol te houden. Buurvrouw, familie, vrienden en gisteren dus ook XYZ worden spiegel. Als ik oprecht wil zijn dan zie ik nu zelf beter en beter het effect van die paar kilo’s minder, de make-over. Mijn humeur is moeilijker down te krijgen. Niet alleen de zon heeft bij mij invloed.
